1st Barber Shop haircut

Here is his first time in the barber seat. We went and there was gentleman in the chair already and decided that he would stick around to watch Micah. He did pretty well, he didn't ever cry but kinda got scared when the clippers with a vacuum thing attached to it came on. But he sat there and finished it up like a good little boy. As you can see it must have been a tad bit stressful for him, b/c he was knocked out as soon as we got going. He is a sweet little boy!

The first cake is his Tonka truck cake that we ate. Then the second one is the one I made for him to dig into. The store wouldn't make one for him to smash that went with the Tonka one. So over look the one I made...it was my first time to decorate one! ha!

This is at Sara's birthday party with all her family on both their birthday's. We were having Micah's party on the day after so this was her party. But Micah got a present and his own cupcake with a candle in it. I didn't want to take away from Sara's party but his Aunt Jennifer and Uncle Joe were not going to be able to be at his party. So they brought his gift and him a cupcake to eat on his birthday. We had fun and had an eventful day.

I don't know if you can tell in any of this pictures but on his forehead (left side) he has a blue knot. This is from his morning nap turning into falling off our bed. I was cleaning and left him a little to close to the edge. The next thing I know, he had dived off the bed apparently on his head. So he had a nice blue goose egg for his first present on his first birthday! Nothing like getting hurt on your birthday for all the pictures!! But it isn't too noticeable in the pictures unless you are looking for it.

Here is my baby boy waiting to get in the bath. As you know boys love to be naked and mine is no exception! And yes his bottom is quite red. He was on an antibiotic from his ear infections and the medicine killed his tummy which in turned killed his fanny. Poor thing! But all is well now and we are finished with all of that, thank goodness.

These are just a few pictures with daddy. His faces are funny so I thought I would share.

These faces below are from us trying to get him to eat this yogurt to help with his tummy. As you can see it didn't go over well. My mom kept feeding it to him so Jason could get the picture right below. He would make that face and blow in and out of his nose real fast and it made us all laugh. This kid is hilarious and is a cutie!

The two girls with me in the pictures are Miranda and Stephanie. They are sisters and our birthdays are all right in a row. Miranda (left) is on the 20th, Stephanie (middle) is on the 21st and then I bring up the rear on the 22nd. We always try to go out to eat for our birthdays and this year we went to Cracker Barrell. But the first picture is from a couple of years ago and we ate at Joe's Crabshack. I just wanted to see the differences in us from 2 years ago. Not much has changed except for my hair and Stephanie looks a little older now. Well, that is all that has been going on in the month of August. Except for our beach trip we just got back from today. And I will try my best to get on here after the weekend and post pictures from that. I am in a wedding this weekend, so I will be pretty busy. Maybe I will have pictures from that also!

This is the day he went for his 2 month shots. :( It wasn't that bad though, he only cried when he was actually getting shot in the leg 4 times!!! But after it was over and I could pick him up, he was good. On the last picture you can see his little bandaid on his leg, and yes I kept it for his book. I love how he smiles in his sleep...I like to think he is playing with me in his dreams..haha

Here is what we did on the 4th of July weekend...yes, I know it's really late. And I don't really have any pictures b/c I'm really bad at being a good picture taking mommy. But seeing how Micah looks alot like my baby pictures and Jason thinks he looks just like me, I took the picture with him. My mom and I had Micah in his room putting on different outfits because we had church pictures the next morning. I didn't know which ones fit and which were still too big. So we ended up with a dressy sunday outfit that Katie brought for us. He did ok with the first few outfits then he got a little tired of the whole production and started fussing. We had to show daddy his little shoes that he was wearing for the first time.

She did have an episode yesterday when we took the two of them to get their pictures taken. She got upset that Micah got to take his pictures first! haha She eventually got over it though.

Yay...a visit from Katie

On friday, Katie came from Birmingham to visit with Micah. We had a great time catching up on everything and got to sit by ourselves and chat. Well, Katie did have Micah most of the time but he didn't make a fuss. Then we had some unexpected visitors, Jason's grandparents came by for a visit too. The middle picture is of Micah in his swing and it was set on low, but it swings like it's on high. Or so we think. Jason says it looks like we are getting him ready to visit six flags. But he rolled over on his side and we all thought it would be cute to take his picture in it.

Well, it was a little rough, but Brandi finally had Micah Glenn Gray at 12:15 pm on May 29th, 2008. He was 8 lbs. and 1 oz. and was about 21 inches long. Both Micah and Brandi are healthy and well!

I was able to hang in there without passing out (barely). Brandi was incredibly strong through a very difficult delivery. And I'm still not sure how such a large baby came out of such a tiny woman. She's resting at the hospital now. Hopefully she'll be home in another day or so and I'm sure she'll give you an update then.

I was going to let everyone know that I made it all the way through the weekend without having a child. He is a little slow poke! My mom came over friday and we went to O'Charley's to eat and then hung out at the house. Saturday we got up really late, because Jason was not feeling well and couldn't sleep. Then we made it out to Douglasville and bought a mattress at Sam's. We have been trying to find a mattress for so long that Jason could sleep on. He needs a very firm mattress apparently, so his back won't hurt. We had one handed down to us, but sadly it flew out of the back of my parents truck when they were bringing it over to our house. It was a sad day for Jason!!
So now we have one and all is well again. We don't have to sleep on a futon anymore!! It was getting kinda crowded with a big ole belly. Which it doesn't really matter b/c I'm going to be having him within a few days now. Today was a lazy day and we just hung out at the house and I'm capping it off with a blog. I hope everyone has a great memorial day!

Dr's Update...

I went to the doctor this morning for my check up and all is still going the same. I have not dilated any and really no signs of him coming. My doctor is on call this weekend, so if he comes this weekend that will be great!! But if he does not, then I will go in Wednesday night between 5 and 6 and they will give me cervidil (sp?) and pitocin on thursday. Which thursday is the 29th, so that means Jennifer will be happy!! I'm not looking foward to the potossin, I've only heard bad things about it. So this weekend I will try to get in as much walking as I can stand and hopefully he will come on out. That's all I have for now...I hope everyone has a great weekend!

and still no baby. He decided to postpone his arrival, by how many days...who knows. But just wanted to give you an update so you know. I am starting to have my first contractions that your stomach tightens up but you don't feel them yet. So I guess that's a start! I didn't even know they were contractions until someone told me. (can't wait until they start hurting :(....yay)

Well, Jason's sister, Jennifer wants him to wait until May 29th to be born. Only because her daughter Sara was born exactly 6 years before that. The reason for all of this thinking is because Jason and I were married exactly 6 years to the day of her and her husband Joe. It is kinda ironic that Jennifer's due date was on May 22nd and mine being May 21st. This way we would have our anniversary's and first child both 6 years apart on the same day. It would be kinda neat for it to happen that way. It definitely would help everyone in remembering the dates of stuff. I hope everyone followed that...I'm bad at explaining things. Especially when I have to type it out. Down below I posted a picture of Jennifer and Sara with me in the pictures. The pictures are about 2 years old, that's all I could find already on the computer.

Dr's visit

Well, I went to the doctor this morning for my check up....and she told me nothing! Ok, she did tell me that I have not started to dialate yet. All I'm waiting for is either my water to break or contractions to start. I'm hoping the full moon helps out next week. So everyone cross your fingers that he is not a week late!!!! Oh and earlier he was going crazy! I told Jason to come over and watch the show. He said it looked like an alien moving around in there. I believe Micah was showing off how long his legs are and running them all over the place. Just crazy!

One Week Away!

39 weeks

The bottom two pictures were taken last night, with one week to go until my due date. I am going to the doctor in the morning to see if I have dilated any and the usual check up. Hopefully I will have some answers tomorrow, but he might be like his mother....late! I was kinda hoping he would be like his daddy and come early. To update you a little, I have been fine and nothing much has changed. I am still working and plan to until either the doctor tells me not to or Micah comes. I have a little swelling in my feet and ankles at the end of the day but nothing unbearable. I just come home and prop them up and they go back down. Other than that everything is going well. My dad says it's because us Bishop's are tough! haha Gotta love ole Wayne! Hope everyone is doing great...hope to have some more news for you soon!

Ok, sorry I haven't been on here to update my progress or anything. It is 12 am on friday morning and I had a really long nap this afternoon and now I am wide awake...so what else better to do than to blog. Some of you may know that I have 2 weeks left until my due date. The only thing that I can tell for sure is that he has dropped. He no longer kicks me in my ribs, it's down lower now. Speaking of the little one, he is moving around right now, maybe to say hi to all of you and I'm coming soon. I really do hope so!!! Jason is getting excited and anxious for Micah to get here so he can play with him. As he says, "I'm hogging him too much." I go to the doctor again in the morning, so maybe we will know more then. But as of yet, I haven't had any contractions or any other signs of his arrival being soon. I have another belly shot waiting to be uploaded, so maybe I can get that on here this weekend. I'll try to update my news more often!
